Privacy policy

Last updated 25 August 2026. This policy explains what evergreen early learning centre collects about you and your child, why we collect it, where it is held and how you can ask us to change or delete it. We handle personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

Who we are

What we collect

When you enquire: your name, email address, phone number, your child's name and date of birth, your preferred start date, the programme you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field.

When you apply: the information on our application form — child and family details, health and medical information, authorised pickups, consents, and any documents you upload.

We ask for your child's date of birth for one reason: to place them in the right age group. We do not collect information about your child from anyone other than you.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry and arrange a visit; to assess and process an application; to care for your child safely once enrolled, including responding to a medical need; and to meet our obligations as a licensed early years provider in Dubai. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it is held

Enquiries and applications are stored in our family portal, hosted on Supabase in the ap-south-1 region. Email is hosted by Hostinger. Access is limited to Evergreen staff who need it for admissions or care.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an application are deleted within 24 months. Application and enrolment records are kept for as long as your child is with us, and afterwards for the period required of licensed early years providers in Dubai by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and applicable UAE law. If you would like to know the retention period that applies to your child's records, write to us and we will tell you.

Website analytics data, where you have consented to it, is held by Google for no longer than 14 months and is then deleted automatically. It is never linked to your enquiry, your application, or your child’s record.

Our lawful basis

We rely on your consent when you send us an enquiry or agree to a specific use such as photography. You may withdraw that consent at any time.

We rely on the performance of a contract to process an application and to run your child’s enrolment once a place is accepted.

We rely on protecting vital interests where health, medical or emergency information is needed to keep your child safe, and on legal obligation where records must be kept or produced for the Knowledge and Human Development Authority or another competent authority.

We rely on your consent for website analytics. Analytics is optional and stays off until you accept it. Declining has no effect on your enquiry, your application, or your child’s place.

Transfers outside the UAE

Some of the services we use store or process data outside the United Arab Emirates. Our family portal database is hosted on Supabase in the ap-south-1 region (Mumbai, India). Transactional email is delivered through Resend, which sends from eu-west-1 (Ireland). Our mailboxes and this website are hosted by Hostinger in the European Union. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited and the data it collects may also be processed by Google LLC in the United States. If you decline, no data reaches Google at all.

The UAE Data Office has not published a list of countries deemed to offer adequate protection. Where a transfer is not covered by an adequacy decision we rely on your explicit consent and on the contractual protections our providers offer, and we transfer only what is necessary for the purpose described above. If you would rather your data were not transferred in this way, contact us and we will tell you what we can offer instead.

Keeping it secure

Access to enquiry and enrolment records is restricted to Evergreen staff who need it for admissions or for the care of your child, and every account is individually identified. Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to a registered address; we do not store passwords. Data is encrypted in transit, and documents you upload are held in private storage that is not publicly reachable.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you and your child, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw a consent you have given. Write to hello@evergreenelc.ae and we will respond within 30 days.

Photographs

We photograph children's learning as part of our documentation practice. Photographs are shared with you through the family portal. We ask separately for your consent before any image of your child is used publicly, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies until you allow it. On your first visit we ask whether you consent to Google Analytics, which we use only to understand how the site is used — how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether an enquiry follows. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. If you accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives your IP address in anonymised form.

If you accept, Google Analytics stores cookies named _ga and _ga_<id> to recognise a returning browser. We do not use them for advertising, we do not share them with advertisers, and Google’s advertising and remarketing features are not enabled. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which removes the cookies and makes us ask again. Analytics never records anything about your child. Separately, the map in our footer is embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when it loads.

If something goes wrong

If a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights or your child’s, we will notify the UAE Data Office without undue delay and will contact you directly where the risk to you is high, describing what happened, what it means for you and what we are doing about it.

Complaints

Please raise any concern with us first at hello@evergreenelc.ae — we would rather hear it and put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the UAE Data Office, the federal authority responsible for personal data protection.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and move the “last updated” date at the top. Where a change materially affects you we will tell you directly rather than rely on you noticing it here.
