With growing confidence and curiosity, children are encouraged to explore more complex materials and environments. Sensory and science-based provocations using sand, water, natural textures, and early tools deepen their understanding of cause and effect, patterns, and natural phenomena.
Children engage in open-ended art experiences using a variety of materials such as pastels, charcoal, wire, clay, and mixed media. Our atelier supports individual exploration and collaborative projects, encouraging creative risk-taking and expressive storytelling through art.
Outdoor learning expands to include more structured nature investigations, gardening responsibilities, and physical challenges that promote coordination and resilience. Learning areas are intentionally set up for inquiry, experimentation, and connection with the natural world.
Language development continues to blossom through shared reading, group storytelling and dramatic play invitations. Children are encouraged to express their ideas through dictation, drawing, and increasingly confident use of language and vocabulary.
Emerging from children's questions and interests, projects grow in depth and complexity. Children co-construct knowledge through hands-on research, collaboration, and extended investigations. Their thinking is documented through photos, drawings, transcriptions, and group reflections.
The Nest children participate in group experiences, learning to share ideas, listen to others, and resolve conflicts with greater independence. Classroom routines support a strong sense of community, responsibility, and empathy for others.

Children's natural questions and ideas guide the direction of project work. These long-term investigations evolve through discussion, research, and hands-on experiences. Their learning journeys are captured through individual and group documentation, graphic evolution books, and collaborative displays that honour each child's voice.
Creative expression is encouraged via a wide range of materials such as paint, clay, collage, and mixed media. In our atelier, children explore ideas both individually and in small groups, developing confidence, fine motor skills, and a sense of aesthetic appreciation.
